Frequently Asked Questions

What is the UK Theory Test?

Anyone who wants to start driving a vehicle or a motorcycle in the UK legally is obliged to take a Theory Test first. You will not be allowed to take Practical Driving Test until you have passed the Theory Test.

The Theory Test will also have to be taken in case you decided to get a license for a new category vehicle. So, if you hold a car license you will have to pass a Theory Test if you want to get a motorcycle license.

When can I legally start driving in the UK?

The legal driving age in the UK is 17, so long you have a provisional license and there is a licensed driver aged at least 21 in the car with you. You will need a full driving license to drive alone legally.

What authority is the Theory Test set by?

DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency) is a government body in the UK that provides driver education.b But don’t confuse it with the DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) – a body that issues the Provisional Driving Licence and then the driver’s license once you have passed.

There are officially 14 categories covered by the DVSA test: Accidents, Alertness, Attitude, Documents, Hazard Awareness, Motorway Rules, Other Types of Vehicle, Road and Traffic Signs, Rules of the Road, Safety and Your Vehicle, Safety Margins, Vehicle Handling, and Vulnerable Road Users. Passed 1st time after a week of this app

Basically title. There were some questions that weren’t on the app, but some extra learning and common sense helped. An hour an evening.

Great app!

I’m 31 and find it super difficult to retain new info, but this app was so so so helpful. I only had it downloaded for a week before my theory test and had done no other revision before downloading. I did about 30 mock exams and 10/11 mock hazard exams, by the end of the week I was getting over 90% pass on every mock test I took. I had my theory test today and passed it the first time and it’s 10000% because of this app. Well worth the £4.99!

Passed first time!

This app was a godsend and definitely worth the subscription. I’m going to be honest I started going through the content a few months ago when I turned 17 but got about half way and just forgot to continue. Then I looked for available tests, expecting one in a months time, but was surprised to see one 2 days later… booked it on a Saturday and the test was on the Monday. So I just did as many mock exams as I physically could on the Sunday -as well as some YouTube tips- and went in feeling pretty good. I then came out with a 49/50 feeling like I knew my stuff! Google was helpful but I couldn’t have done it without this app.
