This Privacy Notice explains how RAC Motoring Services,  Registered No: 01424399, will process the personal data of individuals using the 2023 Driving Theory Test UK website. 

We sell our mobile application and any associated in-app features through the Apple AppStore and Google Play Market. Your transaction is with Apple or Google, not with us and we receive no information about your purchase or you. However if you created an account via the website, the following Privacy Notice will apply. 

This notice sets out the basis on which we collect any personal information relating to you, or that you provide to us. This is information that you provide to us in relation to us providing you with our services.

Information You Provide

If you used the website to create an account, the personal information you may provide through the Service or otherwise communicate to us includes:

  • Identity data, such as, first name, last name
  • Contact data, such as, email address
  • Participate in interactive features
  • Request customer support
  • Contact information (your name and email address).
  • Other information. We may collect other information about you that is not specifically listed here and will use it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information Automatically Collected. 

  • Log information: it is the type of your browser, app version, your IP address.
  • Device Information: we collect information about the device you use to access our Services, including the hardware model, device operating system and mobile network information.
  • Information collected from third parties. We may collect your information from third parties. We may add this information to the information we have already collected about you, and we will handle it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We DO NOT collect any special category data (e.g., information related to racial or ethnic origin; political opinions, religion or other beliefs; criminal background or union membership), through the Service or otherwise.

Service providers. We may share your personal information with third party companies and individuals as needed for them to provide us with services that help us provide the Service or support our business activities (such as website analytics, email delivery, marketing/advertising, IT providers, technical support, and legal and other professional advice). We authorize these third parties to access your personal information to the extent reasonably necessary for them to provide their services.

Security of Data

Your data security is important to us but you must remember that the methods of transmission over the Internet or methods of electronic storage is not completely secure. We endeavour to use commercially acceptable methods to protect your Personal Data, but we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Our mobile applications may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to the third party’s site. We highly advise you to check the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We do not control and do not take any responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Your Rights

You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances for example where we rely on your consent to use your information or where our purpose for using your information has come to an end.

You are not usually required to pay any charge for exercising your rights, and we usually have one month in which to respond to you (unless your request is unusually complex).

Retention of Your Personal Data

We do not collect, store, use, save, or have access to any of your personal data except for the information mentioned above that we need in order to provide you the Service and customer support. Any data received by the RAC from the previous data controllers will be removed upon termination of website-based accounts. 

Individual settings relating to the Driving Theory Test UK are not personal and are stored only on your device. We do not collect, store that information at all and have no access to it.

We do not store account settings and study results, so you might lose them in case you delete the application form your device.

The information is only stored on your device or your cloud service.

Your Right to Complain
